Trauma-Informed Resilient Schools teaches school professionals how to create trauma-informed schools and classrooms. The training focuses on resilience, exploring the core values and beliefs of educators and places an emphasis on understanding how trauma impacts children and their school experience. Lastly, proactive strategies such as fostering connections, prioritizing social and emotional skills, establishing safety, and promoting play are presented.

 SOCIAL CHANGE IN ACTION: PREVENTION, CONSULTATION, AND ADVOCACY

Summer 2021

In this course, students prepare for their roles as counselors in areas of prevention, intervention, and consultation with specific populations in different settings. Using an action-research model, students develop a blueprint for a project to address a contemporary mental health issue through the context of prevention, intervention, or consultation.
