School Counselor and LGPC

MIDDLE SCHOOL
While specializing at the elementary level, I also have experience in middle schools. I am a proponent of teamwork and provide additional support for my current school's middle school advisory program when possible. These lessons were created for students in 6th through 9th grade through collaboration with the secondary school counselor. Lessons for this level include Coping Skills, Drug and Alcohol Prevention, Healthy Relationships, Mindfulness, Responsibility and Respect, and Role of the Counselor
LESSONS

RESPONSIBILITY AND RESPECT
In collaboration with my department, this lesson was designed as part of the school's advisory program. It addressed the topic of respect and responsibility and opened discussions within the 7th grade classes about the importance of respecting others regardless of differences
SELF-CONCEPT
This lesson was used early in the school year to introduce the basics of identity to older middle school classes (8th and 9th grade). Using comparison to The Lion King, it explains Johari's window and how individuals can choose what they believe about themselves regardless of others' perceptions or assumptions
