SAFETY NETWORK

2nd Grade

Taught as part of Personal Body Safety, this lesson introduces key concepts using excerpts from the book Let's Talk About Body Boundaries, Consent, and Respect by Jayneen Sanders. Students then identify their safety network (3 - 5 adults who they could go to if they felt unsafe).

ADVOCACY

3rd Grade

In this lesson, 3rd grade students learned what it means to advocate for oneself, other people, and to fix big problems. Using the book "Say Something" by Peter H. Reynolds, students discuss different ways they can use their voice. This lesson sets the foundation for future social justice and action-oriented lessons by empowering them to say something.

BOUNDARIES IN FRIENDSHIP

Grades 4 - 5

Part of a 2-part unit, this lesson discusses the importance of boundaries and respect in friendships as students grow older and social dynamics grow more complex. It provides a bridge between earlier body safety lessons (consent) and social lessons in future years (healthy relationships).
